St. Edmund Campion Catechism Group - Introduction

St. Edmund Campion Catechism Group was started in 2020 to give online lessons to catechumens who were too numerous and too dispersed to invite for face-to-face lessons. Its membership has grown steadlily and now welcomes all enquirers, catechumens and mature Catholics from around the world who wish to deepen their understanding and love of their faith.

Current lessons take place on Wednesday at 7:30pm on Microsoft Teams. To enrol, please contact [email protected].

Each week, a link to a Teams conference will be sent to group members along with single-page lesson plan. Each lesson weekly conferences will last one hour, ideally with 45 minutes of teaching and 15 minutes of questions. Each lesson is recorded and made available after the session.

Series 1 — What We Catholics Believe

Series 1 was based upon sixteen talks given by the late Daphne McLeod called What We Catholics Believe. The talks, using the Penny Catechism as its principle reference, provided the framework for the course which was intended for catechumens. Course content was developed on a closed website (Sharepoint Site) which made it easy to create a tidy compact package. In view of the growing numbers of souls interested in following the course, both mature Catholics and catechumens, the content of Series 2 will now be hosted on the fsspx.uk website so that all the world can browse the course. Series 1 will be transferred to the same website when time permits.

Series 2 — The Basics of the Catholic Faith

Series 2 course content will follow a series of talks: The Basics of the Catholic Faith by David Rodriguez of the Fatima Centre.

Series 3 — The Map of Life

Series 3 course content will follow the The Map of Life by Frank Sheed.

Series 4 — Theology for Beginners

Series 4 course content will follow the Theology for Beginners by Frank Sheed.
