Fr. Thomas O'Hart's 1st Masses in Ireland
On Sunday 29 July Fr. Thomas O'Hart celebrated his 1st Mass in Ireland before a packed congregation in Corpus Christi Church. Just a week later he did the same for the faithful at St. John the Evangelist's Church in Dun Laoghaire. It is with great joy that the faithful participated in these Solemn High Masses and received the many graces associated with the 1st Mass of a newly ordained priest.
Father O'Hart was ordained on 22 June in Dillwyn, Virginia after completing his course of studies for the priesthood at St. Thomas Aquinas Seminary. He is the first Irish ordination for the SSPX in quite some time, the last being Fr. David Sherry in 2007. His brother Dominic resumes his studies in the Fall, and God willing, in a few short years, he will be the next Irishman ordained.
Although Fr. O'Hart has been assigned to his Alma Mater in England, he will surely be remembered in many households back in Ireland, with the hope that some day he will return and minister in his homeland.
O Lord grant us many holy priests!
