Comhaltas Chriosti Ri gathered in East Cork for one last time before Joe Budds heads off to the seminary. He organised the weekend, and his house hosted the whole group of about 30 youth!

After Mass on Friday night, an entertaining game of pictionary was played, with many strange illustrations. Up early on Saturday morning, after Mass there was a conference on the error of equality by Fr Ockerse, followed by a visit to the Cobh Cathedral, where they all admired the stunning architecture and stained glass windows. The group next made their way to the Cork city centre where they recited a public rosary in front of a statue of Our Lady of Fatima. St Declan's well was the next destination by the seaside. Back at the Budds' residence, there was another short conference followed by a gourmet farewell meal for our host.

On Sunday, they helped serve and sing at Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel, making it possible to have the first High Mass at Shanakiel for quite some time now! After, there was a visit to the grave of little Nellie of Holy God which is just a five minute walk up the road from our Chapel, and then off to the races! Most of the group took part in a go-kart race that included not a few car pileups, but it all added up to lots of fun. Then all met at Fermoy where the Stations of the cross were prayed, ending at the top of the mount where the huge stone cross can be seen from miles around, and then everybody took off for home.
